| About Us
The CCHPN, primarily, provides support to those on the front lines
of the effort: the historical commissions, historical and architectural
review boards, and historic property owners of Chester County. In
addition we try to build connections between professional and avocational
preservationists, to be a countywide network allowing expertise and
knowledge to flow from those who have it to those who need it.
CCHPN Mission Statement:
The Chester County Historic Preservation
Network is an affiliation of local organizations
and individuals dedicated to protecting and
preserving Chester County’s historic resources and landscapes
through education, facilitation, and public and
private advocacy.
We hold two educational meetings in the autumn and a workshop in
the spring on current historic preservation issues and regional architectural
styles.
We hold a Volunteer Recognition
Celebration every summer during which we recognize
the preservation volunteers in the county,
highlighting their successes and challenges, and
thanking them for their ongoing commitment.
We publish a quarterly newsletter, The Chester
County Ledger, to support our meetings and workshops
and to highlight issues that affect
the county’s historic resources.
In 2004 we began to provide support to the
development of the Chester County Historic Resources
Atlas, an update of the county’s
inventory of historic resources. This is a project
of the Chester County Parks and Recreation Department.
Starting in 2005, we have become a
sponsoring partner in the county Town Tours and
Village Walks, which grows every year thanks to the
efforts of county staff and countless volunteers
around the county, and the generous support of the
Chester County Department of Parks and Recreations
and the Chester County Conference and Visitors
Bureau.
We welcome any input from those whom we try to represent: the preservationists
of Chester County and any person or group with an interest
in our historic
resources. We invite everyone to attend our functions,
participate in our activities and join the CCHPN as
a member.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
