aboutusFor old and new residents alike, the charm and beauty of Chester County’s historic landscapes and streetscapes is a source of deep pride. The preservation of Chester County’s historic character and open spaces is an important and widely supported endeavor. The ongoing preservation of our historic resources, above and below ground, is an everyday effort across the county. The CCHPN works to bring people together and give them the information they need to preserve their neighborhoods and communities of Chester County. Please consider joining the effort.

The CCHPN, primarily, provides support to those on the front lines of the effort: the historical commissions, historical and architectural review boards, and historic property owners of Chester County. In addition we try to build connections between professional and avocational preservationists, to be a countywide network allowing expertise and knowledge to flow from those who have it to those who need it.

CCHPN Mission Statement:

The mission of the CCHPN is to connect local governments, organizations, and ans individuals in their efforts to protect, preserve, and promote the historic resources and cultural landscapes of Chester County through communication and education.

The vision of the CCHPN is to enhance the quality of life and community character of Chester County through historic preservation.

Some of the Many Chester County Historic Preservation Activities:

We conduct educational events and workshops on current historic preservation issues and regional architectural styles.

Each year we hold a Volunteer Recognition Celebration Dinner during which we recognize the many preservation volunteers in the county, highlighting their successes and challenges, and thanking them for their ongoing commitment.

We publish our newsletter, The Chester County Ledger, to support our meetings and workshops and to highlight issues that affect the county’s historic resources. Please visit the CCHPN Ledger page in this website to view previous issues of the Chester County Ledger.

In 2005, we became a sponsoring partner in the county Town Tours and Village Walks, which grows every year thanks to the efforts of county staff and countless volunteers around the county, and the generous support of the Chester County Department of Parks and Recreations and the Chester County Conference and Visitors Bureau.

We welcome any input from those whom we try to represent: the preservationists of Chester County and any person or group with an interest in our historic resources. We invite everyone to attend our functions, participate in our activities and join the CCHPN as a member. To learn more about joining CCHPN please visit our Membership page.
